Tree Trimming and Pruning

Thanks to our 57-foot bucket truck and proficient tree climbers, we can prevent common issues such as branches falling onto buildings or electrical lines. In order to maintain unobstructed views on your property, it is also advisable to engage in routine tree pruning so as to remove deadwood or excessive growth surrounding trees.

When is the Best Time to Prune or Trim Trees?

  • For most trees, the best time for tree trimming or pruning is between late fall and early spring.

  • Dormant pruning in late fall or winter is recommended to protect trees that are at risk of developing certain diseases.

  • Young or newly planted trees should be trimmed before the branches start spreading in the wrong directions.

  • For oak trees, avoid pruning them in summer as this can cause them to wilt.

  • For fruit trees, it’s best to prune them before they bud and after the leaves fall or change color. However, if your fruit trees are growing too large or bearing too many fruits, to the point where there is a risk due to unsafe limbs, you can also get them pruned in summer.

  • Elms can only be trimmed before April 1st and after July 31st due to city bylaws.

  • Dead limbs on a tree can be pruned any time of the year.

Tree Shaping

We can help you enhance the visual appeal of the trees on your property through our tree-shaping service. Also known as ‘arborsculpture’, this technique is used to enhance the natural beauty of specific tree species, seamlessly blending them into their surroundings or creating a striking artistic focal point.
